[China Packaging News] Stora Enso group, with its actions and strategies in dealing with global warming, was selected into the "supplier climate a list" released by the international non-profit organization CDP, which aims to promote sustainable economic development
more than 4300 enterprises participated in CDP supply chain projects and submitted annual supply chain climate change disclosure reports to them, which were independently evaluated and scored by CDP. Only 3% of them were selected into the "supplier climate index A-level list", and Stora Enso is one of them
Stora Enso is also the only Nordic company on the "CDP supplier participation leadership list". Among all the enterprises that participated in the evaluation, only a handful of suppliers participated in leadership driven enterprises, accounting for only 1%
"we firmly believe that the use of renewable materials is the key to combating global warming." Noel morrin, executive vice president of Stora Enso sustainable development, said, "over the past 10 years, Stora Enso has actively reduced the energy intensity of its business and reduced its dependence on fossil fuels in many ways. Today, 75% of the energy produced and used within the group is carbon neutral. In recent years, we have also begun to deal with emissions in the supply chain."
Paul Simpson, CEO of CDP, said, "we congratulate the 112 listed enterprises for leading a low-carbon future. While striving to develop the global economy, enterprises are also actively achieving new climate goals, but such low-temperature devices are extremely vulnerable and impractical. The leadership of Stora Enso group has pointed out the direction for everyone, that is, dare to take bold actions and take advantage of potential opportunities."
"A-level list of suppliers' climate index" can be queried on the official website of CDP, which is published in CDP's report "missing link: harnessing the power of purchasing for a sustainable future". The report shows that a large number of purchasing organizations around the world are using their strong purchasing power to put pressure on the supply chain, which has reduced 434 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to reducing the total greenhouse gas emissions of France in a year
