Common problems in prepress production/output (VI)
6 About pspnt rlp
1. file format
① most of the output centers use the pspnt point color separation output system, and some use harryquin or Israel's Symbian system, but they all have one thing in common, that is, they all support postscript printer description files, that is, files with the suffix PS
② currently popular design software: Photoshop, PageMaker, CorelDRAW, illustrator, etc. all support PS printing. As for the S2, PS2 and PS files generated by founder software such as founder book edition, Weisi and Feiteng, they can only be output by pspnt, which is not supported by other output systems
③ there are also some word processing software such as word and WPS2000, which can theoretically generate PS files and output films, but in fact, prepress output requires some processing such as making up, adding register gauge lines, cutting lines, etc., while word, WPS2000, and other software can be said to be powerless in this regard, especially color manuscript. Once it is done, go to post-processing, It will bring great difficulties to the prepress output staff. Therefore, try to choose a series of design and typesetting software such as PageMaker and fit
2. Hanging accuracy during off-line output
the higher the hanging accuracy, the more exquisite the printed product is, but it has a great relationship with paper, ink, etc
if you print a picture on ordinary paper {newspaper), the picture will not become more or even retrogressive, but will become a blur (horrible) Therefore, before output, you must know what kind of printing supplies of printing materials are, and then determine the hanging accuracy
common paper and mesh accuracy: stabilize the loading valve, imported coated paper or self-adhesive, etc.: 175 ~ 200 lines; Imported gummed paper, etc.: 150 ~ 175 lines to finished composite parts and fully clad composite parts and assemblies; Ordinary offset paper, etc.: 133 ~ 150 lines; Paper 100 ~ 120 lines, and so on. The worse the paper quality, the lower the hanging. The better the paper quality, the higher the hanging should be
4. linearization
Phototypesetter has different dot magnification for different films. For some Agfa films, the linearization curve does not need to be adjusted by Agfa Imagesetter, but if Agfa imagesetter uses films from other manufacturers, the linearization curve needs to be adjusted. This is not because the films from other manufacturers are bad, but because this kind of film does not match Agfa imagesetter. If you want to obtain high quality, the dot expansion rate of the film should be within 10%. If the film cannot meet this requirement, it is best to replace the film of other brands. In addition, after linearization, the confirmation point should be expanded within 1%. Only in this way can the output film truly reflect the creativity of designers
5. Hanging gray levels
adding hanging gray levels can improve the output quality of the gradient, but it should not exceed 1024 gray levels at most, because after the level is higher than 1024, the improvement in quality cannot be distinguished by the naked eye, but it has a great impact on the running speed of rip
of course, when adding the hanging gray level, you must set the "rip parameter/picture quality" option to "fine", otherwise the setting of gray level will not work
tip: in software such as wits, you can also set the gray level of the gradient. As here, it is recommended that the maximum gray level set in viz should not exceed 1024, because the running speed of rip will also be greatly affected after the level is higher than 1024
6. frequency modulation point
in some cases, frequency modulation points may be used. Founder century rip provides two kinds of frequency modulation points for selection. Better printing quality can be obtained by using frequency modulation points, but because the printing process of frequency modulation points is quite different from that of frequency modulation points, if you use frequency modulation points to output film, you must notify the subsequent printing and printing processes in advance, otherwise, there will be a vicious accident of losing points during printing, resulting in the decline of printing quality
7. film density
the field density of the output film of the imagesetter is between 3.5 ~ 4.2, which can obtain the best output quality. Tip: the minimum output density should not be less than 3.5. The factors that affect the density of film
mainly include: film type, exposure intensity, development time, development temperature, etc. Every time you change different batches of film, change the developing or fixing solution, and change the developing time and temperature, you need to re output the test film, and reset the exposure intensity and linearization curve
